Leather Pyrography – Mar

This is a class that came about as a happy accident. Our carving instructor Saman wanted to add some embellishments to the leather chair he had made. On a whim he decided to burn scenes onto the leather and then embellish them with paint. As with everything he does the results were amazing! And a new class came into existence, he is very excited to share what he learned with others. So while not strictly speaking a woodworking class it uses the same tools as Wood burning so we thought why not. This class is for anyone who uses leather in their work, or for adventurous souls who like to experiment with new artistic mediums. Each student will chose the design they would like to create. Saman will then demonstrate how to use your wood burning tools for leather burning and guide each student through controlling the temperature and the basic stroke work used in leather burning. If time allows Saman will also show students how to add color to their creations with leather paints.
